I’m Maria Renee Montes, a needle felting artist based in Naperville, IL, and the hands behind each lovingly crafted creation. Though my background is in Psychology, I’ve always felt a strong pull toward the arts, like it’s something naturally meant to do.
Source of Passion
During the pandemic, like many of us, I found myself seeking solace in creativity—exploring photography, drawing, painting, and embroidery. But it wasn’t until I picked up a felting needle that I truly found my passion. There’s something magical about transforming fibers into lifelike pet portraits that capture the spirit of a beloved companion.

For me, this organic and therapeutic art has been a journey of connection. The rhythmic motion of felting wool has a calming effect, turning creativity into mindfulness.
This meditative quality is what made me fall in love with needle felting—not just as an art craft but as a way to pour my heart into every piece.
